Finally..Real German Food

I finally had an authentic German dish, Krustenschweinebraten: Roast of pork in dark beer sauce with bread and potato dumpling serving with salad.  It was delicious!  The sauce was perfect with the pork.  I didn’t care too much for the dumplings but pork & beer was a perfect combination.  For dessert, it was time for some apple strudel with ice cream.  The apples were thinly sliced and piled on top of each other wrapped in dough.  It was denser and the sauce was thicker than an apple pie but very good overall.  Not sure what the orange fruit was but it tasted like orange with grape texture..Anyways, an excellent German dinner experience.  Surprisingly, there is a lot of different kinds of food in Germany..It took a whole week to finally get to a German restaurant and they brewed their own beer!

I have found the local Guesthouse’s generally have a daily meal, not a menu, you must inquire if they are serving, available and are always top notch in local flavor and served with their choice of a local brewed beer.
