Gas Station Control in the Netherlands

Went to the gas station to pump gas in our car. It doesn’t work. Huh!? Someone comes over and tries to help..still doesn’t work. Looked up what “Let Op Diesel” means..just means “Watch Diesel”. So, we go into the gas station and asked the clerk if she could turn on the gas on unit 9. She says “You’re parked the wrong way.” 😯 So, the pump doesn’t work if you’re facing the wrong way! I guess there are sensors on the ground. A real through traffic: Come in from one way>Pump>Exit through the other. Interesting..Why don’t we have that at home?
